Road closures announced for Thursday night to set bridge beams under Interstate 75
Construction crews will intermittently close Tidewater Preserve Boulevard under Interstate 75 to set bridge beams 6 p.m. to midnight Thursday.
Crews will close Tidewater Preserve Boulevard at approximately 6 p.m. for about 30-40 minutes to set the beam, then reopen the road to allow traffic to clear, the Florida Department of Transportation announced.
Crews will repeat the closing several times to set each of four bridge beams.
A flagger will be present. Drivers are asked to exercise caution and patience. Emergency crews will be allowed to pass.
This is part of a $145 million project to widen I-75 and reconstruct the I-75-U.S. 301 interchange from a partial cloverleaf to a tight diamond configuration.
New bridges are being constructed over the Manatee River for a northbound exit ramp and a southbound entrance ramp to improve ramp safety and relieve the backups of traffic onto the interstate mainline.
The I-75 project begins north of Ellenton Premium Outlets and extends south to the interchange with State Road 64.
