Road construction near Rosedale mall slated to begin soon
Construction crews will be rebuilding the ramps and Minnesota 36 and Fairview Avenue in Roseville beginning Thursday, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
That interchange, a major artery to the Rosedale Center mall, will be rebuilt and realigned to prevent potentially dangerous traffic backups onto the highway due to traffic taking the exits during rush hours, according to a press release from MnDOT.
Other improvements to Fairview Avenue to help prevent traffic jams will include removal of concrete medians, relocating signals on northbound Fairview Avenue, rebuilding the mall’s west entrance from Fairview Avenue, drainage improvements and rebuilding existing sidewalks to meet Americans with Disability Act standards.
Ramps will be closed at times during construction. Work is expected to be done by Aug. 24, which would be before the opening of the Minnesota State Fair, MnDOT said.
