These are the road projects in Boone County that will impact motorists starting Monday through October

Missouri Department of Transportation Projects over the next two weeks will have a significant impact on motorists.

Bundled bridge projects in Boone County will shut down routes in the next week and the new Missouri River Bridge at Rocheport is opening to westbound traffic starting June 16.

Route F at Perche Creek in Boone County closes Monday through Aug. 3, weather permitting, for a bridge deck replacement.

Other upcoming bridge and lane closures include:

  • July 25-Aug. 1, single lane closures with flaggers at Route 124 over Grindstone Creek for bridge rehabilitation;

  • Aug. 7-Oct. 23, Route F full closure over Coon Creek for bridge replacement;

  • Oct. 10-16, short-term lane closure with minimal traffic impact on Route F at Blaze Creek. Work is happening off the roadway.

Motorists will have to take alternate routes during closures.

Traffic on Interstate 70 is being diverted slightly starting June 16 as MoDOT prepares to remove and replace the overpass bridge at Route BB, Exit 115, at Rocheport. This also means westbound traffic will travel for the first time on the new bridge over the Missouri River built by the Lunda Group.

Eastbound I-70 traffic will reduce to one lane as motorists cross and exit the already existing bridge. Drivers will be directed up the exit ramp and then back down the entrance ramp to I-70 where it widens to two lanes.

Westbound traffic also will narrow to one lane as it nears the Route BB exit, where it will flow onto on/off ramps and then onto the new Missouri River bridge, where both lanes can be used.

MoDOT will demolish the Route BB overpass bridge during this traffic diversion, meaning eastbound traffic will not be able to access Route BB after that weekend and those traveling on Route BB will not be able to access eastbound I-70 from this overpass.

Traffic will be detoured over Spur 240, U.S. Route 40 and Route J, Exit 117. The overpass bridge replacement will take until late October, weather permitting.
