Road shut down after gas line cut in north Charlotte
North Graham Street is shut down in both directions between Woodward Avenue and Moretz Avenue after a natural gas line cut.
It happened on Saturday around 3 p.m. and is still ongoing.
The Charlotte Fire Department sent out a neighborhood advisory in a tweet saying there could be a smell of gas in the area but that there was not an immediate threat to the community.
Neighborhood advisory: the homes and businesses in the area of the gas line rupture on North Graham st. between Woodward ave. and Moretz ave. may smell gas in the area but it won’t be an immediate threat to the community.

A Char-Meck Alert said the the gas leak should be resolved around midnight, but the smell could linger.
Drivers are asked to find an alternate route around the area.
