Road closures remain in effect following fatal flooding. The latest

Flash floods damaged, even washed away, roads in Upper Makefield during heavy downpours on July 15, 2023. At least three people were confirmed dead in the floodings and dozens were forced to abandoned their vehicles.

This weekend's storms that claimed the lives of five and left two other people missing has also caused a spate of road closures that continued Tuesday.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, did not provide an estimation on when the road closures will be lifted.

As of Tuesday morning, PennDOT noted these three major roadways remain closed:

Route 32 (River Road) Woodside Road to Taylorsville Road in Upper Makefield and Lower Makefield townships.

Route 532 (Washington Crossing Road) between Dolington Road and Taylorsville Road in Upper Makefield Township.

Taylorsville Road between Route 532 (Washington Crossing Road) and Woodside Road in Upper Makefield and Lower Makefield townships.

During the closures, motorists will be directed to use Taylorsville Road, Route 532 (Washington Crossing Road), Wrightsville Road, Eagle Road, Stoopville Road, Lindenhurst Road and Route 332 (Yardley Newtown Road/Afton Avenue).

Local access will be maintained up to the closures.
