Roads in downtown Sacramento will close for the Farm-to-Fork Festival. See when and where

The annual Farm-to-Fork Street Festival is coming back to downtown Sacramento on Friday and Saturday, which means some roads will be blocked off.

Spread across Capitol Mall, the festival celebrates local agriculture, food, wine and beer with concerts, vendors and exhibits. The free event runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday.

According to the city’s news release, Capitol Mall between Third and Eighth streets was the first to close Wednesday morning.

At 6 p.m. Wednesday, Fifth Street from N to L streets will close. Then, at 6 p.m. Friday, Seventh Street from N to L streets will close.

The roads will reopen at 1 a.m. Sunday.

The city is advising people to plan ahead for these closures and use alternative transportation.

There will be a free bike valet at the festival on Saturday. Sacramento Regional Transit buses and light rail trains are also offering free rides starting at 2 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday. You can request a free ride by showing an online or printed flyer to SacRT staff.
