Road back open in Greene County after car crashes into utility pole

A road is back open in Greene County following a crash Sunday night.

Wilmington Dayton Road was closed for several hours after a drunk driver hit a utility pole, making it snap, and then fell on the roadway.

Officers reopened the roadway around 5:30 a.m. Monday morning, Sugarcreek Township dispatchers told News Center 7.

The driver was not hurt and AES Ohio was called to the scene to restore power.

The crash remains under investigation.

Wilmington Dayton Road was closed after a drunk driver hit a utility pole, making it snap, and then fell on the roadway, according to Sugarcreek Police.

The driver was not hurt and AES Ohio was called to the scene to restore power.

The roadway remains closed but officers are hoping to reopen it later this morning, dispatchers told News Center 7.
