SALEM, Va. (WFXR)– Roanoke College’s head football coach Bryan Stinespring announced Mitch Ferrick as the program’s offensive coordinator.

Ferrick most recently has served as the assistant tight ends coach at the University of Wisconsin for a season. Before that, he served at the University of North Carolina in the same position where he was a part of their ACC Coastal Championship in 2022.

Roanoke College is back in the football game

“We could not be more excited to have Coach Ferrick join our program!” said Stinespring. “He has a strong background in this state and in the ODAC as a player and coach. Mitch has a wide range of football knowledge from his experiences at FBS, FCS, and Division III ball. He is a terrific coach, recruiter, and person.”

Ferrick brings lots of experience to Roanoke College, serving as a collegiate coach at multiple offensive positions since 2016. He is excited to get things started with the Maroons in their first football season since 1942.

Bryan Stinespring named first Roanoke College head football coach in over 80 years

“My wife and I are so excited to be able to be a part of history here at Roanoke College!” stated Ferrick. Coach Stinespring and Coach Giancola are great coaches and even better people, I couldn’t imagine doing this with a better group of guys. As a native Virginian and ODAC alum, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to come back closer to home and begin this journey. Go Noke!”
