Roar Before the 24 results: Wayne Taylor Racing, Meyer Shank lead Daytona Rolex sessions

The Acura's are flexing their muscle to open Rolex 24 week.

The Wayne Taylor Racing No. 10 Acura led two of the three practice sessions (1:35.309, 1:34.947) during this weekend's Roar Before the 24, while the No. 60 Meyer Shank Racing Acura was fastest (1:34.351) during Friday's night session.

While those two teams led the DPi class both days, the No. 16 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 was fastest in both Friday sessions in the GTD class, with the No. 98 Aston Martin posting the fastest time on Saturday.

"No better way to start the Roar than where we finished,” said Jan Heylen, co-driver of the No. 16 machine. "Everybody’s feeling out the track and the drivers, and so everybody’s being very cautious and so are we. But certainly a good start.”
