Guitarist Nita Strauss has rejoined Alice Cooper's touring band just in time for this year's tour dates, which include a co-headlining concert with Rob Zombie as part of the Freaks on Parade Tour at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre in Phoenix on Sunday, Sept. 24, with special guests Ministry and Filter.

Strauss had toured with Cooper for several years until she left for a Demi Lovato tour last year.

Cooper's first tour of 2023, dubbed the Too Close for Comfort Tour, launches in April and features a handful of stadium dates with Def Leppard and Motley Crue.

The Freaks on Parade Tour with Zombie launches Aug. 24 at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas.

Cooper on Strauss: 'It's going to be great to have her back'

In a news release, Cooper said, "Nita asked for a leave of absence to work with someone else, something I always encourage my band members to do. I like them to challenge themselves and try new things. I'm thankful to my old friend Kane Roberts for stepping up and filling in for her, but she'll be back with us for the new tour that starts up in late April. It's going to be great to have her back."

In that same news release, Strauss said, "From the studio to the stage, it's always an immense honor to make music with Alice Cooper!! I'm very excited to be rejoining the band on the road for the 2023 dates, and so I'll see you on the road in April. Let the nightmare return!"

Rob Zombie was a guest at Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding in December

Zombie was one of the musical guests at Alice Cooper's Christmas Pudding, a benefit for Alice Cooper's Solid Rock teen music foundation, in December 2022, dressing down and turning even further down for a set that felt like it was meeting Pudding people halfway compared to his speaker-demolishing sturm und drang at Comerica Theatre in the early 2010s.
