Robbers target auto parts stores

Jan. 15—TRIAD — Law enforcement officers in the Piedmont Triad are searching for a robber or robbers who have targeted O'Reilly's Auto Parts stores, including in Thomasville and Archdale.

A man carrying a small leather satchel went into the O'Reilly's Auto Parts on University Parkway in Winston-Salem on Friday just before the store's 9 p.m. closing time, implied that he had a handgun, forced employees to get into a back office and then took an undisclosed amount of currency, according to Winston-Salem police.

O'Reilly's Auto Parts businesses in Thomasville and in Archdale then were robbed within 24 hours.

The man was described as Black, about 6 feet, 3 inches tall with a slim build and wearing a black ski mask and a blue puffer-style winter jacket.
