Robbie Williams talks “detrimental side” to career in first trailer for Netflix docu-series

Netflix has dropped the teaser for a four-part documentary series on pop sensation Robbie Williams.
Directed by Joe Pearlman, the documentary will cover Williams’s sprawling career of more than 30 years, from Take That singer to one of the most awarded male singers of all time.
“The thing that would destroy me has also made me successful,” Williams says in the teaser, over clips of the pop legend throughout his time in the spotlight.

“Big. More. Touch the fire. Touch the button, push when it says pull,” Williams continues, as shots of thousands of fans filling stadiums around the world are shown.
“All of those things have given me my career, but there’s also a detrimental side to it too," the 'Angels' singer says of fame. "It depends which wolf you feed.”
The teaser also captures the star looking emotional onstage, as well as several excerpts from behind-the-scenes footage and even the singer hanging upside down in concert.
According to the trailer's press release, fans can expect to see Williams's "struggles with addiction to his recovery" and "his breakup with Take That to their reunion" using new interviews and archive footage.
The trailer, which was posted today (September 4) to Netflix’s Twitter account, was accompanied by the caption: “Let us (if you don’t mind) entertain you!”, as well as confirmation that the series is coming to Netflix in the latter part of 2023.

Williams shot to fame in 1990 as part of boy band Take That alongside Gary Barlow, Howard Donald, Jason Orange and Mark Owen.
The band was recently celebrated with its own movie musical, Greatest Days. The film follows five best friends across two different time periods, from when they first saw their favourite boyband (Take That) in concert, spliced with the same group reuniting for the band's comeback tour 25 years later.
The film features the greatest hits of Take That, and stars Aisling Bea and Jayde Adams. It is available to watch now on Prime Video.
