Robert Dickey racked up another 300 in St. George last week, the ninth of his stellar career.

Robert Dickey delivered another masterpiece, and still has a couple of league outings left to throw another one before the clock runs out on the 2022-23 season.

Competing in the Wednesday Invitational League at Sunset Lanes, he got off to a bad start with a split for an open frame. And then it got worse, with another split and open frame, followed by a missed 10 pin for an open in the third frame before finishing with a less-than-cheery 161 game for a bowler with his glowing resume and standout bowling talent.

However, the good news is he engineered a terrific turnaround in his second game including an 8-bagger in a 249 effort, in what you might say was the appetizer, which in turn created a craving for a scrumptious dessert, and that meant feasting on 12 straight strikes, and that's exactly what happened for the ninth 300 game in his career.

And with his latest perfecto, he's seemingly developing a habit of throwing monster games deep into the season like his 300 game in the 2021 roll-off to determine the Sunday Night League Championship at Dixie Bowl.

Dickey is an alumnus of Canyon View High School in Cedar City, holds the record for the highest series ever bowled in St. George, a mind-boggling 878, is a big fan of the Los Angeles Angels, and, amazingly, he does everything in his life using his left hand, except when bowling, when he seamlessly becomes a right-handed bowler with tons of revs.

In other pin action, Brendan Thomas was one of three bowlers in Industrial League play at Dixie Bowl who had a legit shot at a 300, and after running the front 10 for strikes he ultimately finished with a 286 game and gargantuan 798 series.

Meanwhile, Joseph Graham is the second bowler who ran the front 10 only to leave a recalcitrant 10 pin on his 11th delivery which he spared en route to a 289 and a stratospheric 789 series while finishing a standout sophomore season with a 216 average.

Bowlers know throwing a clean series isn't easy, but that didn't stop Tyler Thomas from tattooing the 1-3 pocket with 28 strikes during games of 277, 257 and 227 for a clean 762 series and finish Industrial League play with a 206 average.

Blaine Hartley (730-269) lit up the scoring monitors for the umpteenth time, JC Barrow merits ink for a season-high 712 and raised his Thursday Mixed Nuts League average to 192, Tim Swigart racked up a 268 on the way to a 705, and both Stan Rasmussen (672) and Larry Rumple (661) cranked out season-high T.M.N. League series scores.

Devin Werner (670-269 is a former wrestling and discus/shotput standout who fired 24 strikes in another strong performance, and Todd Thomas (660-244), the patriarch of the amazing Thomas bowling family tossed 22 strikes in a good outing.

Kevin Kidman's 628 included a 7-bagger in a clean 268, and both Nick Mace (612-246) and Tyler Mickelson (603-245) scratched out 600 series scores.

In single game play, Mo Davis (707) is the third bowler who ran the front 10, spared a 10-pin leave in the 11th for a 289, Don Polich (623) also peeled off 10 straight strikes before finishing with a season-high 289, Rod Post (687) fired nine strikes in a 268, and Lew Agius (613) logged a 259.

Finally, Utah Tech University student Gage Petersohn (643) rolled a clean 268 gem, Bruce Arnold Jr. uncorked a 236, Lindsay May (642) pocketed a 235, and Dave Conklin booked a season-high 226.

In women's pin action, Margie O'Neill is enjoying a tremendous season with her latest scoring splurge a 680 series with 18 total strikes including an 8-bagger in a 277 beaut, while Ashley Thomas (632-222) is also having a banner season.

Meanwhile, Utah's Kallie Kee saw her scores take flight after chucking a light bowling ball in favor of a heavier finger-tip one paving the way for a breakout season that included her first 500 series and punctuated an impressive freshman season with her first-ever 600, a 607 on good games of 224, 192 and 190.

Hailey Bundy (558-201) continues the upward trajectory in her game, and her 660 is still the highest series bowled by a woman this season at Sunset, Kara Kopf-Rasberry's nice hook ball mowed down 558 pins with a good chunk of 'em going down in her 213 game, and Sharon Reading (557-197) peppered the lanes with some good competitive scores.

PJ Redhouse tallied a 535, Rachelle Reed KO'd 509 pins, and Sue Brooks flattened 503.

In single game action, Sherri Snarr (587) smacked a 226, Dawn Thomas (557), the matriarch of the amazing Thomas bowling family put together an 8-bagger in a 253. And a bowling highlight Melissa Klotz will be able to tell playing partners on her Sunday golf outings is how she blew away her 104 average with a career-high 181 game including her first-ever turkey paving the way for her second 400 set of the season, a 401, which played a big role in helping her team win the roll-off and win the Dixie Ten Pins League Championship.
