Robert Downey Jr. reveals plan to save the planet with robots and advanced technology
Robert Downey Jr. is taking a page out of Tony Stark’s book to save the world.
The "Iron Man" actor, 54, participated in Amazon's Re:Mars conference in Las Vegas Tuesday, where he unveiled the Footprint Coalition, an organization that will use robots and advanced technology to battle climate change.
"Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years," Downey said, referencing insights from a panel of experts, according to Variety and CNN.
His featured presentation wouldn't be complete without a Stark-esque quip. "God I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects," he joked.

Downey, who dubbed himself a "one-man carbon footprint nightmare colossus," didn't detail which artificial intelligence might be used to help the environment.
However, he did note that the organization will officially launch in April 2020.
The Footprint Coalition website went live shortly after his speech, thanking visitors "for caring about Mother Earth" and offering a newsletter sign-up.
Downey shared some pictures and videos of his presentation on Instagram, writing, "What a night." He added the hashtag, "Team Stark."

His "Avengers" co-star Chris Evans, who portrayed Captain America in the Marvel Universe, gave Downey props on Twitter Wednesday. He simply wrote, "Legend."
