Robin Williams’s Former Bay Area Home Sells

After about one year on the market, Robin Williams’s Bay Area home has found a new owner. The Los Angeles Times reports that the six-bedroom, six-and-a-half-bathroom residence just sold for $5.35 million. (The original asking price was $7.25 million.)

The single-story Mediterranean-style property is situated in Paradise Cay, a small community overlooking the Tiburon Bay, with stunning views of the water from nearly every room. Measuring a generous 6,517 square feet, the house is stylishly but modestly adorned: Its exterior is made up of white stucco and red brick tile, while its interiors boast a mix of hardwood and carpeted floors, crown molding, and unpretentious lighting fixtures. The main living room is large enough to accommodate two sitting areas, with a fireplace flanked by built-in bookshelves anchoring the room. The adjacent formal dining room can easily host a dinner party of eight. Next door to the dining room is the kitchen, with marble countertops and white cabinetry; all three rooms boast large picture windows overlooking the back patio.

Elsewhere in the home, a cozy library features wood paneling and built-in bookshelves that stretch to the ceiling, with a second wood-burning fireplace keeping the room warm. A family room in a different wing of the home has a lofted ceiling, carpeted floors, and sliding glass doors with access to the aforementioned patio. The main suite similarly has a set of glass sliding doors that open out onto the patio, as well as an ultra-zen en suite bathroom with a deep-soaking tub set under a trio of windows and a double vanity.
