Robots lending a hand with groceries

Robots are lending a hand with groceries

Two robots named "Camello"

are helping customers carry groceries

They help around

700 households

They were created by local

technology company OTSAW

They bring shoppers items they've

bought online from the supermarket

CEO OF OTSAW DIGITAL, LING TING MING, SAYING:"We have a mobile app that enables the user to actually see when the robot is in transportation, it will actually send a notice to the user, and they book a time slot and once it arrives at their place, it will send a notification."

They have 3D sensors, cameras, and

weatherproof compartments

Each can carry around 45 pounds

It seems to be impressing younger shoppers

(SOUNDBITE) (English) 25-YEAR-OLD STUDENT TASHFIQUE HAIDER, SAYING:"It makes it easier because I don't have to carry the load. Like I'm not talking just for myself, like, for example, the elderly could specially use it because they wouldn't have to carry stuff all the way to their home."

The shopping bots are on trial for a year
