Rochester Police Close Streets After Suspicious Package Found at Federal Building

Police in Rochester, New York, responded to reports of a suspicious package at the Federal Building on Tuesday, March 19, closing streets before deeming the package to be of no threat, local media said.

Video posted to Twitter shows police at the building, which houses a federal court, offices for members of the US House of Representatives, and an immigration office.

Police said that they closed streets in the area to traffic on Tuesday morning to conduct their investigation. In a later press conference, police said the package presented no threat to the public and may have been a hoax delivered overnight. Credit: Elias Farah via Storyful
