Rochester ranked one of the best places to live during the winter. Here's why

According to a new study, Rochester is among the top 10 places to live during the winter — that's if you enjoy the snowy weather that comes along with it.

American Home Shield, a home warranty company, conducted the research and identified 10 American cities for the list. The list is compiled for those who love the cold and snowy elements and people who would rather inhabit a warm place during the winter months.

Rochester ranked second on the list behind Duluth, Minnesota, and was featured for many reasons, including its average snow totals.

"With more than 100 inches of snow per year, snow bunnies can get their fill of skiing, ice skating, and near-perfect winter weather," said

Skiing at Bristol Mountain and ice skating at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park in Rochester, with its warming area that includes a heated floor and fireplace, are also top reasons for Rochester's ranking.
