Rochester-based singer-songwriter Danielle Ponder will perform on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" this week.

Ponder, a former defense lawyer in Monroe County Public Defender's Office, said that she will be a musical guest on Wednesday's show, which begins at 11:35 p.m. Actor Bryan Cranston - best known for his role as Walter White on AMC's crime drama Breaking Bad - is also scheduled to be featured in Wednesday's episode.

Ponder is also about to embark on a national tour, which begins in Louisville, Kentucky on Jan. 25 and runs through late February, ending at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Wednesday's show is not Ponder's first television performance - or her first national gig. Earlier this year she performed on NBC after hours show "Late Night with Seth Meyers." Last month she concluded a brief European tour, including performances in London, Paris and Berlin. In June, among her many live shows, Ponder brought down the house as the soul singer played a free show at Parcel 5 during the Rochester International Jazz Festival.
