Rochester's Northern Lights complex sold for $2.3 million

Sep. 21—ROCHESTER — A new owner recently paid $2.3 million to buy a northeast Rochester retail center-turned-office complex.

The 12,897-square-foot building at 511 Northern Hills Drive. NE, which housed

the former Northern Lights & Furnishings store until it closed in 2021

, was purchased by Rochester-based Northern Lights Business Park LLC on Sept. 15, 2023.

Buyer Northern Lights Business Park is linked to Allen Investments, which is led by Bill Allen.

Seller Northern Lights Properties of Rochester is led by Greg Gill, whose late father Bob Gill founded Northern Lights and built the complex in 1976. The offices for Gill Builder, Inc. are also based in the Northern Hills building.

Rochester Realtor Jay Christenson of

Loam Commercial Real Estate

represented both the buyer and the seller in the deal.

Loam Commercial Real Estate is also handling tenant leasing for the building, which already houses

Arrowhealth Medical Supply

and

All Apple Insurance Agency

.

Olmsted County estimated the total market value of the two parcels that make up the building and adjacent land at $2.2 million for 2023-2024.
