July is full of activities. Here are five events you might want to check out in the Peoria area this weekend.

Falling in Reverse in concert

Platinum-selling rock band, Falling In Reverse, will present their "Popular Monstour" at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the Peoria Civic Center. The concert will also feature special guests, Ice Nine Kills, Underoath and Catch Your Breath. Tickets start at $41 and can be purchased at www.peoriaciviccenter.com.

Flea market at Peoria Speedway

The Central Illinois Flea Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Peoria Speedway, 3520 W. Farmington Road. Items for sale include antiques, collectibles, boutique clothing, books, yard decor, home decor, art, plants and more. Admission is $2 and half of the admission proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Peoria.

Bronzeville, Blues and BBQ

The Peoria Riverfront Museum will host "Bronzeville, Blues and BBQ," inspired by local artist Preston Jackson's masterwork "Bronzeville to Harlem: An American Story" at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 8. The event will feature live music by the Smokers Blues Band and food available for purchase from Seasoned Little Eatery. Admission is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members.

Peoria City soccer

Peoria’s own USL League 2 pre-professional soccer team, Peoria City, will be in action for their final home game of the season against Springfield Athletic SC at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Shea Stadium, 1523 W. Nebraska Ave. Tickets start at $5 and can be purchased at www.peoriacitysoccer.com.

Historical Society bus tours

The Peoria Historical Society will offer guided history tours from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8. Friday's tour will explore Peoria's rich history of fascinating women who have made their mark on the city and the world. Saturday's tour will recall Peoria's time as the "Whiskey Capital of the World." Tickets are $20 and are available at 309tix.com or by calling the historical society at 309-674-1921. Tours depart from outside the Caterpillar Visitors Center, 110 SW Washington St.
