Rock star Billy Idol is making a stop on his spring tour at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium.

The auditorium made the announcement Friday, April 21 and tickets are on sale now. Auditorium officials said they expect the show at the 3,244-capacity venue to sell out quickly, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29.

"Our reactions were absolute thrill and excitement and we shifted into 'go-mode' as we had just over a week to prepare (for the show)," said Lindsay Drakulic, auditorium director of Marketing and Public Relations. "We are thrilled to be able to offer the Spartanburg community and the entire Upstate the opportunity to enjoy a premier entertainment experience close to home. This incredible show, with one of the world's greatest all-time rock stars."

At this time, Spartanburg is the only city in South Carolina on Billy Idol's spring tour date list. He will hold a concert in Atlanta's Coca-Cola Roxy on Wednesday, April 26, before heading to Spartanburg.
