The Rock Just Shared the 'Iron Paradise' Playlist That Fuels His Workouts

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's workouts are pretty legendary at this point. The actor has recently upped the intensity of his training in order to get into the best shape of his life to play comic book antihero Black Adam, and he's been sharing regular updates from his home gym, known to Johnson and his fans as the "Iron Paradise."

And if there's one thing that helps get Johnson motivated to work out, it's the right listening material. He frequently posts about the songs that are on frequent rotation while he trains, and sporadically shares playlists of his faves on music streaming platforms, as well as inviting his followers to recommend their own gym anthems.

Now he's partnered with Spotify to release the "Iron Paradise Tour" playlist, which assembles all of his gym session staple tunes in one place.

"Ain't the dog that's in the fight, it's the fight that's in the dog," Johnson wrote in the caption; it's a lyric from 'Get Up on My Level', the Mike Zombie track which also includes vocals performed by his sister-in-law, Aja Elan. The line also paraphrases a famous quote widely attributed to American author Mark Twain—"it's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog"—so there are levels to this.

The rest of the playlist is something of a family affair too. Johnson's wife, singer-songwriter Lauren Hashian, features on the Walter French song 'Go Hard', while the presence of the song 'Rock & Roll Band' by Boston is a nod to his late father-in-law, Boston drummer Sib Hashian.

Johnson's love of classic rock is also represented with entries like 'The Ecstasy of Gold' by Metallica, 'Hotel California' by The Eagles and 'Jesus Just Left Chicago' by ZZ Top, as well as several tracks by hip-hop stars Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, and 2Pac.
