"When the war is over, we hope to have a peace concert on the Maidan in Kyiv," said Meine.

The singer promised to not perform again in Russia. The group also cancered all planned Russian concert dates following Russia’s unprovoked full-scale war on Ukraine.

"I don't think we will perform in Russia again," the musician said.

“Not in the foreseeable future. We need to draw our own conclusions from reality.”

Known for their hit ‘Wind of Change’, an unofficial anthem for democracy taking hold in Eastern European countries in the late 1980s, the group changed the song’s lyrics from “I follow the Moskva down to Gorky Park” to “Now listen to my heart, it says Ukraina.”

The musician also revealed whether he was afraid of nuclear war and noted that Ukraine’s allies need to increase their support for Ukraine.

"We are all afraid of an escalation of the war," he admitted.

“But this should not push us to weaken our support for Ukraine. Because what will happen next may be worse than what is happening now.”
