The Rock Says Making One Simple Change Helped Him Achieve His Success

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson isn't one to hold back from sharing a bit of inspo now and again. Whether it's the benefits of a late-night gym sesh, an address on the advantages of being 'the hardest worker in the room' or a message about the merits of a 7,000-calorie cheat meal, he's happy to share the secrets to his success.

In a post shared to his IG, Johnson has been expounding on how a simple change to how he approaches his day has led to massive life gains.

"I’ll share a little philosophy with you guys that’s helped me achieve some success over the years," Johnson wrote on Instagram. "When it comes to hard work and things I’m passionate about, years ago, I stopped saying “I have to” and started saying “I get to”.

Johnson says changing 'have to' to 'get to' was a "big psychological shift" in his life, and is one that, to this day, allows him to approach "the daily grind of shit we gotta get done" with a positive mindset.

"I “get to” train hard and push myself to the breaking point. I “get to” get my ass kicked and come back stronger. I “get to” be the hardest worker in the fucking room. Because when you “get to” do the things you love - it’s a privilege," Johnson said.

Johnson finished his message by advising his followers to try switching their “have to” responsibilities to “get to” hobbies. Doing that, he says, will help you "feel that grind, gratitude & growth".
