Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the busiest, most in-demand movie stars currently working, and regularly states how important it is to him to be the hardest worker in the room. But that kind of work ethic doesn't come without its share of stress. In a recent Instagram post, Johnson shared a clip from his Vanity Fair Q&A in which he spoke about his tactics for working under pressure, writing in the caption that "mindfulness is key."

"I think the most important thing to remember when you're dealing with extreme pressure, for me, is to stay calm," he said. "It's in the calmness, amidst the calamity that you're going through, that you try to gain your clarity and gain your focus, because it helps you make the decision."

Johnson added that since becoming a leading man, he is aware that he needs to lead by example when it comes to how he behaves on set. "I also found that I'm in a position these days where, in a highly stressful situation, there are a lot of people who look to me and my reactions to something, that will in turn inform how they respond and how they react to the stress or the difficult scenario," he added. "So I try to keep those things in mind, try to remain calm, and make the best decision possible."

Staying mindful and grounded is also a core part of how Johnson approaches other areas of his life, including his famously demanding fitness routine. After packing on even more muscle for the DC movie Black Adam, Johnson revealed that his mental trick for pushing through fatigue and never skipping a workout was to remember life before his success.

"I try to remember what it was like when I didn't have much at all; those seven bucks days," he said. "I try to remember that, and usually that gets my ass in gear."
