Rockets’ Jae’Sean Tate to miss first game due to safety protocols
Houston Rockets rookie Jae’Sean Tate will miss his first game of the season on Wednesday versus the Philadelphia 76ers due to the health and safety protocols.
Tate was a late addition to the injury report due to the health and safety protocols as the Rockets will be without at least nine players against the Sixers. Tate was the last Rockets player to appear in each of the team’s 65 games to this point of the season.
Rockets head coach Stephen Silas could not comment specifically on Tate entering the health and safety protocols due to privacy issues but called his loss “super unfortunate” given the number of injuries the team is dealing with.
“He was our No. 1 guy we could plug into all the spots where people are injured or we needed help,” Silas said, via Ben DuBose of Rockets Wire. “Not having him tonight is gonna be a big hit.”
The undrafted product from Ohio State has put forth a strong rookie campaign, averaging 11.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. He currently ranks eighth in scoring, fourth in rebounding and third in steals among all rookies.
