Rockford-area players named all-state by Illinois High School Football Coaches Association

It's awards time, starting with all-state football teams.

The Illinois High School Football Coaches Association named eight Rockford-area players first-team all-state. All eight were seniors and all eight played both ways. The IHSFCA named 18 players all-state in each class.

Rockford selections were:

Class 6A — Belvidere North LB/TE Nick Winters and Harlem DL/TE Keshawn Harrington-McKinney.

Class 4A — Rochelle RB/LB Garrett Gensler.

Class 3A — Stillman Valley OL/DL Andrew Forcier and Durand/Pecatonica RB/DB AJ Mulcahy.

Class 1A — Forreston RB/DL Johnny Kobler and the Lena-Winslow duo of LB/RB Gunar Lobdell and DL/OL Henry Engel.
