Three Rockford business owners/community members are teaming up offering a cash reward to help catch the shooting suspect outside a Rockford butcher shop.

William Jones is accused of fatally shooting Peggy Anderson outside of Pinnon Meats, 2324 N. Court St., last month.

Frank Wehrstein of Dickerson Nieman Realtors, Kip Hartsfield from Crimson Ridge and Jim Baker from PMI Aerospace joined forces to offer a $10,000 reward to an individual that comes forward with information that leads to the arrest of Jones.

“This is important to us as local business owners and community members to show our support for other businesses in our community,” Hartsfield said in a news release. “What happened at Pinnon’s was a senseless crime that caused the death of an innocent woman. Our hope is that the reward incentive brings forward information that leads to Jones’ arrest.”

Police said Jones robbed Anderson and took her belongings outside of the business on Jan 11. During the altercation, police said Jones shot Anderson, who died at the scene.
