Rockford man dead after two-vehicle crash involving semi-truck

The Rockford Police Department is investigating a two-vehicle crash that killed a Rockford man Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Samuelson and Falcon roads in Rockford around 9 a.m.

According to the Winnebago County Coroner's Office, a jeep traveling westbound on Samuelson Road failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed into the trailer of a semi-truck.

The driver of the jeep, a 41-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the coroner's office. The man's name has not been released and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday.

The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt, according to authorities.
