The Rockford Register Star has moved its newsroom to 321 W. State St., otherwise known as the Talcott Building, owned and managed by Urban Equity Properties.

The Register Star has spent the past several months setting up the new location.

Register Star journalists have been working in the community and from home since March 2020. Newsroom employees plan to use the new space as part of a hybrid work model combining work on location, from home and at the office.

"We're excited to have a place where we can meet face-to-face and work together," said News Director Corina Curry. "The location couldn't be better. It was important to us to remain downtown."

The Rockford Register Star sold its former home, the Register Star News Tower at 99 E. State St. in December 2021. The original building was designed by famed local architect Jesse A. Barloga to resemble the former Chicago Tribune tower in Chicago.

The Register Star newsroom's new mailing address is 321 W. State St., Suite 206, Rockford, Illinois, 61101. The newsroom's email address is news@rrstar.com.

The Register Star's circulation department operates out of 7344 Forest Hills Road in Loves Park. Questions about subscriptions and billing can be directed to customer service at 888-478-5066 or ccsm@rrstar.com.

The Register Star news and sports teams produce the Rockford Register Star newspaper and rrstar.com website as well as the Freeport Journal-Standard and journalstandard.com.

The Register Star is part of the Gannett corporation, which operates hundreds of local media outlets across the country.
