ROCKFORD — Northern Illinois residents have donated more than $161,000 to the Brovary Relief Fund, purchasing and delivering medical supplies, generators and other needed items to Rockford's sister city in Ukraine.

The effort has sent 8½ pallets of medical supplies and diesel generators to field hospitals and 270,000 meals. Fighting has intensified in and around Brovary in recent days.
