Rockin’ The Mountain Concert Series comes to Hazleton

HAZLETON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The City of Hazleton is paying tribute to rock legends this summer with a new concert series.

The City of Hazleton in cooperation with Visit Luzerne County (The Luzerne County Convention and Visitors Bureau) has announced the Rockin’ The Mountain music series, which will take place on three specific Fridays this summer at City View Park in Hazleton.

“We have worked extremely hard to improve the parks and recreational areas of the City. City View Park, which is the host of Rockin’ the Mountain, is a true hidden gem buried in the coal region,” stated Hazleton Mayor Jeff Cusat.

The shows are open to the public, free and all ages are welcome to come as there will be live entertainment, as well as, food and beverage vendors.

The dates and scheduled shows are as follows:

  • Friday, June 21: Philadelphia Freedom: A Tribute to Elton John, with opening act Six Shots

  • Friday, June 28: An Evening with Stevie: A tribute to Stevie Nicks & Fleetwood Mac, with opening act Leeann & Company

  • Friday, July 5: Danny V’s 52nd Street Band: A Tribute to Billy Joel, with opening act, Ostrich Hat

Our goal is to create an extraordinary experience for music lovers and provide a platform for talented artists to showcase their skills.  We believe this event will unite the community and foster a sense of pride in the Mountain City. This family-friendly event will create a festive atmosphere where friends and neighbors can come together and make lasting memories.”

Rockin’ The Mountain music series is a companion to the popular Rockin’ The River music series in Wilkes-Barre.

The Hazleton City-based concert area for each event will open at 5:00 p.m. and music will begin at 6:00 p.m.
