Rockledge High dominant in Cape Coast Conference track & field sweep

SATELLITE BEACH Rockledge High repeated its feat of a year ago by sweeping the Cape Coast Conference boys and girls track and field titles on Friday.

It was the 12th consecutive championship for the girls team.

Rios Prude won three events for Rockledge. He took the 100 meters in 10.78 seconds, the 400 in 47.78 and the 200 in 21.86. Fellow Raiders runner Devin Makousky won the 1,600 with a time of 4:27.89, and the took the 3,200 in 9:48.52. Cocoa's Xavier Solis winning shot put went 51 feet, 8 1/4 inches, and he took the discus (135-3) as well.

Nischa King, with an 18-5 long jump and a 14.44-second 100 meters, won two events for the Rockledge girls, and teammate Malinda Underwood matched that with wins in the 1,600 (5:08.81) and the 800 (2:18.17).
