Music legend and gay icon Tina Turner died today at age 83.

Turner rose from humble beginnings, overcame her abusive husband and went on to become one of the most popular musicians of all time with hits like, “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” “River Deep - Mountain High” and “The Best."

Celebrities and fans are rocked by the death of the “Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll” and have taken to social media to express their grief that the eight-time Grammy winner has passed.

Nine Turner, Holly Robinson Pete and Mia Farrow all posted about the multi-talented artist.

There is an outpouring of love and sadness from fans, like @anthoxyloto who tweeted, "Tina Turner is one of my favorite artists and I loved her attitude towards life and towards death too honestly. Im glad the last couple of decades of her life were spent in happiness. RIP Queen!!"

Other fans posted about their life-long love of the singer and her impact of their lives. @DollyDagger75 wrote, "I grew up listening to Tina. My dad was a huge fan of her music n it rubbed off on me."

Still others couldn't contain their awe at Turner's talents and star power. @PaulRudnickNY tweeted, "She somehow seems beyond death: her volcanic artist lives forever."

Clearly this legendary powerhouse of a singer will be missed by all.
