Rockvale High School teacher Edward Parker remembered after death this week
Students and staff are mourning the recent death of a career and technical education teacher at Rockvale High School in Rutherford County.
Ed Parker, 59, was a machine, tool and die teacher at Rockvale, Rutherford County Schools spokesperson James Evans said.
Parker started as a teacher at Rockvale last school year as a second career, according to Evans.
"And he loved it and loved being with the kids," Evans said. "His class was very popular."
Parker worked as a machinist before coming to Rockvale to teach.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Ed Parker family. Mr. Parker, our Machining teacher, passed away Wednesday. Counselors and admin have spoken to each of his classes, and are available to talk to students who need them. @RuCoCTE pic.twitter.com/l5c8vidq8J
