Rockville Town Square ice skating rink continues to get business amid frigid temperatures

ROCKVILLE, Md. (DC News Now) — While some businesses may be struggling to get by with winter weather in the DMV, ice skaters say it’s the perfect outdoor activity.

One business that continues to thrive during the winter months is Rockville Town Square’s ice skating rink.

First-timers and out-of-towners hit the ice rink Thursday night amid the frigid temperatures.

“We’re from Florida and we haven’t been ice-skating in probably 15 years so first time in a while,” said Wesley Whidden.

Markus Renau is a first-timer and while he says it’ll take some time getting used to ice-skating, he’s up for the challenge.

“It’s cool. It’s not really like roller skating, but it’s a fun time” Renau said.

The ice skating season will end near the beginning of March.
