Rockwall to call May municipal election for Places 2, 4 and 6

Dec. 29—Potential candidates for the Rockwall City Council have from Jan. 17 to Feb. 16 to file an application to be on the May 4 ballot. The Council will officially call for the election at its Feb. 5 meeting.

On May's ballot will be Places 2, 4 and 6. Those seats are currently held by incumbents Mark Moeller, Sedric Thomas and Anna Campbell, respectively. City Council members serve two-year terms.

An informational candidate packet is available for residents who may be interested in learning more about running at both at City Hall (385 S. Goliad on the third floor in the City Secretary's Office and online for download via the City Secretary's webpage at http://www.rockwall.com/citysec.asp.

It is expected that the City of Rockwall's municipal election will again be administered by the Rockwall County Elections Department as has been done in past years. Early voting will run from April 22 to April 30 (excluding Sunday).

More information concerning specific polling locations and voting dates and times will be made available on both the City website and on the Rockwall County Elections Department website as soon as those details become available.
