Sir Rod Stewart used to dump his lovers by leaving a plane ticket on the bed when he wanted them to leave, Sir Elton John has claimed.
Rod, 74, once had a hit with I Don’t Want To Talk About It - and it appears he took that to the extreme when it came to ending relationships, according to Elton in his new book Me Elton John, serialised in the Daily Mail.
Elton recalled: “It was absolutely dreadful behaviour: I’d have one leaving at the airport at the same time as the new one was flying in.
“It was a decadent era, and plenty of other pop stars were behaving in a similar way — Rod Stewart occasionally let girls know he’d finished with them by just leaving a plane ticket on their bed, so he wasn’t going to win any awards for chivalry either.”

Stewart - who has eight children with five different women - was recently revealed to be on good terms with three of his exes as they were pictured with him and current wife Penny Lancaster as they celebrated his daughter Kimberly's 40th birthday.
Lancaster has said that she and Stewart's three former partners Alana Stewart, Kelly Emberg and Rachel Hunter all get on.
And he recently told Women’s Own magazine that the secret to the success of his 12-year marriage to Lancaster was having their own personal space.

He said: "Penny and I like our silence. We live in a very big house and we don't bump into each other for hours on end."
Stewart has two sons with Loose Women presenter Lancaster, 48, who he married in 2007, named Alastair, 12, and Aiden, eight.
They met in 1999, the year he split from model Hunter, 49, after nine years together. They share 27-year-old daughter Renee and son Liam, 25.
Before that, Stewart was in a relationship with model Emberg, 60, for seven years; they have a 32-year-old daughter Ruby.
And prior to that, he was married to actress Alana Stewart, 74, for five years; they are parents to Kimberly, 40, and Sean, 39.
Stewart also has a 56-year-old daughter with Susannah Hourde. She was given up for adoption, but has since being reunited with her father.
