Roe v. Wade protests and celebrations: Where people are gathering in New Jersey
The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the famous 1973 court decision that gave Americans a constitutional right to abortion. The 6-3 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health released Friday ends five decades of federal reproductive rights and leaves the states to decide whether they would make or keep abortion legal.
Protests and celebrations began erupting almost immediately. Protestors were outside the steps of the Supreme Court building and rallies were planned for major cities and small towns alike.
By noon in Morristown, a small anti-abortion rally celebrated the decision. Rallies opposing the decision were held throughout New Jersey Friday night and thousands turned out in New York City.
Here's a list of gatherings, both celebrating and condemning the decision planned for this weekend.
