Rogue One: London Tube Stop Spotted In New Star Wars Trailer

If you’re like most people around the world right now then you would have watched the trailer for Star Wars spin-off Rogue one approximately 13 times by now.

However, among all the joy at seeing new Str Wars footage, you may have missed one bizarre cast member - Canary Wharf Underground station.

That’s right, if you look closely at the 1:11 mark on the trailer, you will notice the unmistakable scenery of one of the busiest stations on the Jubilee Line.

You can clearly see the areas where the escalators are situated - and even the instantly recognisable protective sliding doors that open when the train pulls up to the station.

The scene appears to show the film’s star Felicia Jones running through some serious chaos (presumably not to catch the last train) while Storm Troopers are on the rampage.

The question is, however, why exactly did Brit director Gareth Edwards (who is following up the Godzilla reboot with the one-off Star Wars story) film at the station that serves high-flying city types?

Well, it is quite possibly a nod at Factory Farmed, the short sci-fi film that Edwards made in 2008 that set him on a path to directing a Star Wars movie.

That film was shot around Canary Wharf and was filmed even using the team name of Rebel Alliance.

You can probably expect the station to get even busier as Star Wars fans descend on it for pictures after Rogue One comes out in December.
