From roller coasters to water slides, here are 5 things to do this summer in Branson

Southwest Missouri is a place of many attractions. If you are looking for something fun to do this summer, traveling down to Branson is a popular choice.

Branson is known for its many entertainment options, from shows to shopping. Here at the News-Leader, we put together a list of five places to visit this summer in Branson.

Silver Dollar City

This 61-acre amusement park in Stone County is always a popular destination. The 1880s-style theme park features more than 40 rides and attractions, live shows and concerts, 18 award-winning restaurants and more. Silver Dollar City was recently nominated to be named the top amusement park in America by the USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

White Water

With the weather heating up in the Midwest, White Water water park in Branson is the place to cool down. This recreational water park features a wave pool for swimming, slides, water rides, private poolside cabana rentals, dining and shopping.

Big Cedar Lodge

Big Cedar Lodge recently opened its first-ever Golf Cottages, which are located along the ridge of the Mountain Top golf course.

This 4,600-acre luxury resort is in the Missouri Ozark Mountains, overlooking Table Rock Lake. Johnny Morris, founder of Bass Pro Shops, created Big Cedar Lodge as a destination for families and friends to get together outdoors. It features restaurants, two full-service marinas, five golf courses, a 50,000-square-foot activity center, spa and much more.

The Track Family Fun Parks

This family-friendly destination includes three high-rise go-kart tracks as well as traditional go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats, bumper cars, the 100-foot-tall Skycoaster, arcades, mini golf and batting cages.

Fritz's Adventure

This Branson indoor park has more than 80,000 square feet of space featuring a multi-story ropes course, underground tunnels, rappelling and slides. If you are looking for family fun (and air conditioning), this is a popular place for parents and children visiting Branson.
