Rolling into 2024: How to celebrate New Year's in Tuscaloosa

It's almost time to ring out 2023 and ring in 2024.

Here's a look at some New Year's celebrations in Tuscaloosa coming up in the days ahead:

  • Children's Hands On Museum's New Year's for Kids: This event will be 9:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Dec. 30 and include hats, horns, crowns, beads music and a "champagne" toast. There will also be two balloon drops at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. All activities will be included with admission, which is $12 with children younger than a year old admitted fee.   • New Year's Eve with Blackberry Breeze at The Venue Tuscaloosa: This New Year's celebration will feature a musical performance by the Blackberry Breeze Band. The event will be 9 p.m.-1 a.m. Dec. 31 at the The Venue Tuscaloosa, 6052 Watermelon Road. Tickets at the door will be $65 and online tickets are $50.   • New Year's Eve at The 205 Restaurant and Bar: This event will take place Dec. 31 beginning at 6 p.m. on the sixth floor of Homewood Suites by Hilton, 2451 Jack Warner Parkway West. It will feature live music provided by Three's Company starting from 9:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. It will also include a champagne toast at midnight, specialty cocktails and door prizes.   • Hotel Indigo's Champagne Carnival: This event will be 7:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at Hotel Indigo's Lookout Rooftop Bar, 111 Greensboro Ave. The event will feature a fortune-teller, magician and DJ.   • Holidays on the Plaza: The city of Tuscaloosa's outdoor ice-skating rink will be open from 1-5 p.m. Dec. 31 and from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Jan. 1 at Government Plaza, 618 21st Ave. Skating sessions cost $15. For more information, go to www.holidaysontheplaza.com/calendar.
