Romney says Trump incited Capitol 'insurrection'

"What happened here today was an insurrection, incited by the President of the United States," said Senator Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee. "Those who choose to continue to support his dangerous gambit by objecting to the results of a legitimate, democratic election will forever be seen as being complicit in an unprecedented attack against our democracy."

Police evacuated lawmakers and struggled for more than three hours after the invasion to clear the Capitol of Trump supporters, who surged through the hallways and rummaged through offices in shocking scenes of chaos and disorder.
