Ron Johnson and Glenn Grothman among public officials to attend Cascade’s 175th anniversary event

VILLAGE OF CASCADE – Cascade will commemorate its 175th anniversary with music, a potluck and presentations from several politicians Sept. 16.

The celebration will be at Cascade Memorial Park, 401 Milwaukee Ave., from noon to 4 p.m.

Village President Tanya Powers will speak, the Cascade Legion will present the colors and the winner of the 175th anniversary queen contest will be announced. The contest was based on an essay competition for residents between ages 14-19.

The potluck will start at the beginning of the celebration. Brats and burgers will be provided. Drinks will be available to buy. A DJ will also play music.

U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, U.S. Rep. Glen Grothman, State Rep. Terry Katsma and State Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu are expected to speak in the afternoon, too.

Johnson will take questions from the public after he speaks at the celebration around 3 p.m.

Katsma is expected to present a Wisconsin state flag, a U.S. state flag and a plaque to the village, according to Village Trustee Josh Karmasin.
