Ronan girls rally to edge Whitefish

Jan. 4—RONAN — Ariana Zepeda's basket with 6.2 seconds left capped Ronan's fourth-quarter rally, and the Maidens edged Whitefish 35-34 in a Northwest A girls basketball battle Tuesday.

Olivia Heiner's seven points led Ronan and Lauryn Buhr and Maddie Duffy added six points each, combining to shoot 6-for-9 from the floor. The rest of the team made just 8 of 37 shots.

Jude Perry scored a game-high 14 points for Whitefish, which led 27-23 going to the final period. Bailey Smith added 10 for the Bulldogs.

TROY — Zoe Linn scored 17 points, 13 in a dominant first quarter by Stillwater Christian, which downed Troy in girls basketball Tuesday.

Linn hit 8 of 15 shots from the floor for the Cougars, who led 26-0 after one quarter. Katherine Paolino came off the bench to total 10 points, six rebounds and five steals.

Izzy Tunison's six points led Troy.
