Ronda Rousey on returning to WWE: 'I don't want to make any promises about the future'
Ronda Rousey’s WWE career is on hiatus for now. The 32-year-old Rousey will take a break from the company so she can start a family.
As for what comes after that, Rousey isn’t sure. In a video update on her situation, Rousey explained she doesn’t want to commit to anything before having a child.

Rousey — and her husband Travis Browne — explained her injury at Wrestlemania. She broke her pinky knuckle while tossing a table. The injury required surgery, which resulted in Rousey getting two screws in her hand.
Rousey also confirmed she and Browne are trying to have a baby. She said this was always the plan when she joined WWE, but she loved competing and decided to stay with the company longer than expected.
Now that she’s finally taking time off, she’s unclear whether she’ll come back. As Rousey explained, she doesn’t know how she will feel once she holds her baby in her arms.
“As for WWE plans in the future, we want to have a baby first. I don’t know what it’s like to have a baby. I could look down at this beautiful child and be like, ‘F—- everything. I don’t care about anything else other than this baby’ and you’ll never see me again.”
She also didn’t rule out the possibility of a return.
“You never know. The thing is, I don’t want to make any promises about the future when I don’t know how I’m going to feel in the future.”
Rousey joined WWE full-time in 2018, and spent over a year with the company. During that time, she won the Raw Women’s Championship. Rousey headlined Wrestlemania 35, where she lost on a controversial pin by Becky Lynch.
