Ronnie Ortiz-Magro of ‘Jersey Shore’ pops the question to girlfriend Saffire Matos

“Jersey Shore” star Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is engaged to girlfriend Saffire Matos after he popped the question at a private picnic attended by family members including his 3-year-old daughter.

“Ronnie has been taken this time to work on himself and his daughter,” a source told People. “For him, he felt like this right time. They’re both really happy for this next chapter. His health and happiness are what is most important.”

Ortiz-Magro and Matos have been dating since last fall, People reports.

Rumors have swirled about domestic violence charges, as People related, and Ortiz-Magro recently took time off to deal with mental health issues “that he has ignored for a long time.”
