Roof collapses at middle school in Fort Lauderdale

Students were evacuated from James S. Rickards Middle School when part of the school’s roof collapsed Friday.

It happened mid-morning in the media center at 6000 NE 9th Ave. in Fort Lauderdale.

No injuries were reported, but emergency responders remained on scene.
