May 4—A 42-year-old man believed to be under the influence was hospitalized Monday after police said he fell while jumping back and forth between rooftops in the city's Hill Section.

The man, whose name was not released Tuesday pending notification of his family, is expected to face charges of criminal trespass and criminal mischief, Capt. Dennis Lukasewicz said.

About 11:20 p.m., the man tried to enter a woman's window through a fire escape at 710-712 Prescott Ave., but she pushed him out, Lukasewicz said. She called the police. They arrived and spotted him on the building's roof.

He believed people were after him and jumped from 710-712 Prescott Ave. to 714 Prescott Ave., Lukasewicz said.

As the Fire Department responded with a ladder to get him down, the man jumped again, trying to land back on the roof of 710-712 Prescott Ave.

He slipped, fell and was taken to the hospital, Lukasewicz said.
